What grants are available for heat pump systems?

The heat pump system grants still available in 2024 are:

In Madrid, you can benefit from a grant covering up to 60% of the cost of renovating HVAC systems in residential buildings. Non-residential buildings may receive up to 40% of this cost. Be sure to submit your application before 31st December 2024 to take advantage of these benefits.

In Murcia and Catalonia, grants are available to improve energy efficiency in homes. These subsidies can cover 40% of the total cost of your system, up to a maximum of €3,000. They are applicable to installations carried out after 1st February 2020, provided the total cost does not exceed €7,500. These grants are available for single-family properties and homeowner associations. In Catalonia, you must apply for the grant before 31st December 2024, while in Murcia you have until 31st July 2025.

Heat pump system tax deduction 2024

Good news for those who installed a heat pump system between 2021 and 2024: you are eligible for an income tax deduction when submitting your tax return.

The deduction will be based on the amount you paid for the work carried out during the stated period (from 6th October 2021 to 31st December 2024), up to a maximum of €5,000.

The deduction percentage applied is 20%. This means you can deduct €1,000 if you reach the maximum deductible amount of €5,000.

You can apply the income tax deduction in the tax period when the energy performance certificate is issued after the work is completed. To be valid, the certificate must be issued before 1st January 2025.
