The heat pump is the most efficient option for the air conditioning of your home. Get the perfect temperature in both summer and winter.

Discover the Daikin aerothermal heat pump.

How does a heat pump work?

A heat pump consists of an evaporator, a condenser, a compressor and an expansion valve. However, the most important element of the whole circuit is the refrigerant liquid, which has particular properties that allow it to change state easily.

1. The refrigerant passes through the outdoor unit (the evaporator) and absorbs the heat present in the air, causing it to change to a gaseous state. This gas then reaches the compressor and is pressurised to increase its temperature.

2. The compressed refrigerant travels through the circuit until it reaches the aerothermal indoor unit (the condenser) and transfers all the heat generated to a water pipe circuit. The hot water is then available for heating or domestic hot water (DHW).

3. On leaving the condenser, the refrigerant has returned to its original liquid state and has lost much of its temperature. However, in order to restart the cycle, the liquid passes through an expansion valve that decompresses it and further lowers its temperature. The refrigerant is now cold and ready to pass through the evaporator again.

The great advantage of these systems is that the process can be reversed in summer to generate cooling in the home and transfer heat from inside the home to the outside.

Aerothermics, the renewable energy that air-conditions your home

Aerothermal energy is a renewable, inexhaustible and free energy that comes from the air and allows us to obtain heating, air conditioning and domestic hot water.

How does Aerothermics work?

  1. The atmosphere captures the energy emitted by the sun.
  2. Heat Pump technology captures that renewable energy from the air.
  3. That energy is used in our home through the outdoor unit which sends it to the indoor unit.
  4. The indoor unit heats the water and produces heating and domestic hot water.
  5.  In summer, the heat from our home is sent outside to produce air conditioning.

Aerothermics makes it easier to integrate the use of renewable energies in the domestic environment and the consequent reduction of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.
