Care and cleaning of units
1. With what material can I clean the indoor unit, the outdoor unit and the remote control?
Clean them using a dry, soft cloth. Before cleaning them, remember to turn off the unit.
2. How can I open the front panel?
Hold the panel by the tabs on both sides of the unit and lift it until it stops. Do not touch the metallic components of the indoor unit. If you touch those parts you may suffer injuries (see drawing below).
Care and cleaning of filters
6. How do I remove the air filters of the unit in order to clean it?
Open the front panel and remove the filters pushing the flange in the centre of each filter upwards and downwards (see drawing below).
7. How do I remove the titanium apatite photocatalyst air purifier filter (grey)?
In order to remove the filter, embed the upper part of the air cleaning filter in the flanges (you will find three flanges on the upper part). Next, move the lower part of the filter slightly upwards and embed it in the flanges (you will find three flanges on the lower part, see drawing).
8. How do I clean the air filters?
Clean the air filters with water or using a vacuum cleaner. If the dust does not disappear easily, wash it with neutral detergent dissolved in lukewarm water and let dry in the shade. It is advisable to clean the air filters every two weeks. Once clean, replace the air filter and the titanium apatite photocatalyst air purifier filter and close the front panel (press both sides and the centre of the front panel, see drawing).

Care and Cleaning of the titanium apatite photocatalyst air purifier filter (GREY)
9. How often and how should I clean the titanium apatite photocatalyst air purifier filter?
It is advisable to clean the titanium apatite photocatalyst air purifier filter every six months with water. This will maintain it in good condition. It is advisable to replace it every three years.
10. How should I clean it?
In order to ensure proper maintenance, remove the dust using a vacuum cleaner and clean it using water. If it is very dirty, immerse it for 10 to 15 minutes in water mixed with a neutral cleaning product. Once clean, shake it to remove any traces of water and let it dry in the shade. As the filter component is made of paper, do not wring it when removing the water.
11. How should I change the filter?
In order to change the filter, remove the flanges of the filter housing and replace it with a new filter. Dispose of the old filter as flammable waste.
12. What happens if I forget to clean the filters as recommended?
Operation with dirty filters entails deficient heating or cooling, the air is not deodorised or cleaned and there may be an unpleasant smell.
13. Where can I acquire new filters?
To order new filters, contact the commercial establishment where you purchased the unit.
You can also purchase them at the official technical support centre.
14. What should I do before a long period of inactivity of the unit?
Turn on the fan for several hours on a sunny day to dry the interior. To this end, select the “fan” function in the “mode” option. Next, press the “on/off” button and commence the operation. Upon completing this process, disconnect the circuit breaker of the unit and restore the temperature setting. Lastly, remove the batteries from the remote control.
* When connected to a multi-split outdoor unit and before turning on the fan, make sure that the rest of the units are not turned on.
Note: for further information and specific details, please consult the manual corresponding to the model installed.
* Circuit breaker: switch, automatic switch.

Checking the units
In the event of any of the following cases, perform the corresponding checks before calling the repair technician.
Case 1
The unit does not work (the “on” light is turned off).
Check
- Is a circuit breaker disconnected or has a fuse blown?
- Is there a power failure?
- Are the batteries installed in the remote control?
- Is the timer setting correct?
Case 2
The cooling / heating effect is deficient.
Check
- Are the air filters clean?
- Is something blocking the inflow/outflow of air in the indoor and/or outdoor unit?
- Is the temperature setting correct?
- Are the doors and windows closed?
- Are the regime and direction of air flow correctly adjusted?
Case 3
Operation ceases suddenly (the “on” light blinks).
Check
- Are the air filters clean?
Is something blocking the inflow/outflow of air in the indoor and outdoor units?
Clean the air filters or remove all the obstacles and disconnect the circuit breaker. Next, reconnect it and try to turn on the unit using the remote control. If the light continues blinking, call the technical support service of the commercial establishment where you purchased the unit.
- Are the operating modes the same in all the indoor units connected to the outdoor units in a multi-split system?
If they are not configured in the same manner, adjust all the indoor units to the same operating mode and confirm that the lights blink. Likewise, when the operating mode is in “AUTO” mode, adjust the operating modes of all the indoor units to “COLD” or “HEAT” for a moment and check again that the lights are normal.
If the lights stop blinking after the previous steps, it means that there is no anomaly.
Case 4
The unit operates abnormally while turned on.
Check
The unit may malfunction if it receives direct sunlight or radioelectric waves. Disconnect the circuit breaker, reconnect it and try to turn the unit on again using the remote control.
* Circuit breaker: switch, automatic switch.
Troubleshooting Daikin air conditioning units
The cases set out below are not malfunctions, but rather are due to external factors. You can continue using it normally.
Case 1
Startup is delayed when pressing the “on” button after turning off the unit or when selecting the “mode” option.
Explanation
Its objective is to protect the unit. Wait approximately 3 minutes.
Case 2
Hot air does not flow out immediately after turning on the unit and selecting the heating option.
Explanation
The unit is heating up. Wait approximately 1 to 4 minutes. The system has been designed to start discharging air only after having reached a certain temperature.
Case 3
When the unit stops functioning suddenly in heating mode, air being expelled can be heard.
Explanation
The system is removing the frost from the outdoor unit. You must wait approximately 4 to 12 minutes.
Case 4
The outdoor unit drips or expels vapour.
Explanation
In heating mode: the frost accumulated on the outdoor unit is transformed into water or vapour when the unit performs the defrosting operation.
In cold or dry mode: the humidity in the air is condensed and water is deposited on the cold surface of the outdoor unit and, therefore, drips.
Case 5
The indoor unit gives off odours.
Explanation
This occurs when the unit absorbs the odours of the room, furniture or cigarette smoke and discharges them together with the air flow. In such case, we recommend calling a technician to clean the indoor unit. Consult the commercial establishment where you purchased the unit.
Case 6
The outdoor fan rotates while the unit is turned off.
Explanation
If this occurs after turning off the unit: the outdoor fan continues rotating for 60 seconds more to protect the system.
If this occurs while the unit is turned off: when the outdoor temperature is very high, the outdoor fan begins rotating to protect the system.
Case 7
The unit stops functioning suddenly (the “on” light is lit up).
Explanation
In order to protect the system, the unit may stop functioning in the event of severe voltage fluctuation. Operation will be automatically resumed in approximately 3 minutes.
* Circuit breaker: switch, automatic switch.
