DAIKIN has over 90 years’ experience in the manufacture of advanced, high-quality climate control equipment for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

The Evolution

1924Akira Yamada founded DAIKIN Industries LTD.
1933Research into fluoride coolants.
1938Production of the first coolant.
1957First rotary compressor.
1958First semi-industrial heat pump unit.
1969First multi-split system.
1973DAIKIN sets up facilities in Europe (DENV), in Ostende (Belgium)
1982First VRV system developed in Japan. First single-screw compressor.
1994First air conditioning industry company to obtain ISO 9001 certification in Japan.
1995First Swing compressor.
1997All the Japanese factories obtain ISO 14001 certification.
1998Domestic range with HFC-410A. DAIKIN obtains ISO 14001 certification in Europe.
1999URURU-SARARA Split with humidifier.
2002Prize to ozone layer protection.
2003Opening of the factory in the Czech Republic. Development of the VRVII with R-410A.
2006DAIKIN launches the revolutionary Altherma system on the market.

Important safety warning

Daikin announces a design defect in its air purifiers with humidifier function manufactured between November 2008 and end of February 2010.

Although no incidents have been detected in any country in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Daikin, concerned about the comfort and safety of its customers, offers the possibility of repairing the affected units free of charge.
